From A to Zab — Isabelle Ratté
Exhibition
Isabelle Ratté is equally adept at handling saws, blowtorches, brushes and bows.
“Everything is creative material for me. My guiding principle is upcycling; I pick up various objects here and there, recycled and unusual materials, scrap metal… and then I listen to what the materials are telling me.”
This exhibition explores the polymorphous universe of this artist who, by fusing unusual materials, gives birth to eclectic creations of all kinds, effectively from A to Zab.
Isabelle Ratté
As a multidisciplinary artist, she finds inspiration everywhere, using unexpected materials in all kinds of creations that range from sewing to welding.
For over 20 years, she taught traditional drawing, graphic arts and performing arts at Collège Boréal. In addition to her sculptural creations, Isabelle also designs clothing, restores furniture and plays music: cello, guitar, bass and ukulele are the musical instruments she knows best.
Opening Reception: Thursday, February 29, 2023 at 5 p.m.
