Les DJs Masqués met at a NASA boot camp in 1959 while participating in the Sonic Quantum Express project, a scientific experiment to study the impact of time tourism on the human body in relation to very low sound frequencies.

A series of failed experiments led to their sudden and mysterious disappearance from the laboratory in the summer of 1968. Several conspiracy theories have hovered over their disappearance.

In 2012, the Canadian Space Agency observed an Apollo capsule-like object containing two humanoid life forms enter the atmosphere and wash up in Lake Wanapitei.
