February 6th—April 2nd, 2025 L’Atrium italiano

Her youth: the Flour Mill whispering freedom to her ears. Her games: avid discoveries among black outcrops. Her enchantments: reading all the children’s books in the local mobile library and taking dance classes at Le Centre des Jeunes. Sixty years later, visual art inhabits the inner garden of her childhood. It grows unbound. Her Flour Mill still flowers.

Opening Reception: Thursday, February 6, 2025, at 5 p.m.

This series of exhibitions is presented in collaboration with the Galerie du Nouvel-Ontario

Nicole Poulin

Nicole Poulin channels childhood innocence into the here and now. Her experiences as a young Francophone growing up in Sudbury translate into wraithlike forms on richly textured surfaces with glints of humour. Multidisciplinary artist that explores multiple mediums, her works ‘grow from intuitions like seeds influenced by time and place where a moment can grow into infinity.’

Since 2001, her works have been featured in several Northern Ontario exhibits. In 2022, Nicole pursues her work in an artist studio at 122 Durham Street in downtown Sudbury. For decades, her love of the arts has been essential to the development of numerous arts organizations in Sudbury.
