A prominent classical musician throws his support behind Place des Arts fundraising campaign
Don’t miss cellist Cameron Crozman’s benefit concert!
A few months ago, a young world-famous musical phenom learned about our Place des Arts project. His reaction? “I want to help out!” It was then that Cameron Crozman, one of Canada’s best-known cellists, contacted us and offered to play a benefit concert here in Sudbury.
“I grew up in Ontario. I learned to really love French culture. I really feel a kind of Franco-Ontarian pride, you might say,” said Cameron Crozman in an interview with Éric Robitaille, host of Ça parle au Nord on Radio-Canada’s Ici Première.
Cameron has just finished a European tour, and he’s embarked on a Canada-wide concert series. The stop in Sudbury was not on the schedule, but Cameron insisted on coming to lend his support. A musician who plays amongst the biggest stars on some of the world’s greatest stages, thinks Sudbury is worth the trip. Now it’s up to us to prove him right! Music cuts across all language barriers and gathers communities, have you got your ticket?
“Being able to give back to this community, which gave me the opportunity to do the things I’ve done, is very important.”
