Jean-Gilles Pelletier is the new Executive Director of Greater Sudbury’s Place des Arts
Alain Richard, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Greater Sudbury’s Place des Arts, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jean-Gilles Pelletier as Executive Director of the organization. Mr. Pelletier will assume his duties on Monday, April 25. He will succeed Léo Therrien who retired on April 1st.

Pelletier was until recently the Executive Director of the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario. He had previously worked as the Executive Director of the Société Santé en Français, and as Executive Director of the Office of the French Language Services Commissioner of Ontario. Earlier, Mr. Pelletier had served as Vice-President, Community Investments, at the Ontario Trillium Foundation and as Director, Administration and Official Languages, for the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada, where in both cases he managed programs accompanied with substantial budgets. He is also a former Executive Director of the Centre francophone de Toronto (CFT), a multidisciplinary French-language service centre. Under his leadership, the CFT merged with the Centre médico-social communautaire de Toronto.
Mr. Pelletier has worked in Ontario for over thirty years. An avid sportsman, he enjoys cycling and cross-country skiing. He looks forward to discovering new trails and hikes around the Greater Sudbury area.
